WITHDRAWAL PROCEDURES
Withdrawal Procedures, Cancellation and Refund Policy
The Academy for Nursing and Health Occupations (ANHO) understands that circumstances may arise requiring a student to withdraw from their educational program. Students are encouraged to speak with the appropriate Dean before making a withdrawal decision to understand the academic and financial implications.
Withdrawal Procedures
Students wishing to withdraw from ANHO must notify the appropriate institutional official:
- During the Conditional Acceptance Period: Contact the Dean of Student Services/Financial Aid Director.
- After the Conditional Acceptance Period: Contact the Academic Dean.
Notification of withdrawal may be provided orally or in writing. The date ANHO receives notification will be documented on the student’s outcome form and used in determining applicable institutional refunds and Return of Title IV Funds calculations, in accordance with the institution’s withdrawal-date procedures.
ANHO may allow a student to rescind a withdrawal notification. Rescission must be submitted in writing. If the student subsequently stops attending, the original withdrawal notification date may be used, or a later academically documented last date of attendance may apply.
Students who stop attending without formally notifying ANHO may be considered unofficially withdrawn. ANHO determines unofficial withdrawals following fourteen (14) days of nonattendance, in accordance with its attendance policy.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
The following provisions apply when a student cancels enrollment or is terminated from ANHO:
- Cancellation must be made in person or in writing.
- All monies paid will be refunded if an applicant is not accepted into ANHO or cancels within three (3) business days after signing the Enrollment Agreement and making the initial payment.
- Cancellation before the end of the Conditional Acceptance Period will result in a full refund of all monies paid.
- After the Conditional Acceptance Period, applicable institutional tuition refunds will be calculated according to the refund schedule below.
- Institutional refunds will be issued within thirty (30) days of termination or receipt of the cancellation notice.
- Refunds, when due, will be issued without requiring a separate request from the student.
ANHO may dismiss a student, at the discretion of the Executive Director, for insufficient academic progress, nonpayment of costs, or failure to comply with institutional rules.
Institutional Tuition Refund Schedule
ANHO will credit the student’s tuition ledger for any term or payment period not attempted.
For periods of obligation of twelve (12) months or less, the following institutional tuition refund schedule applies:
| Withdrawal Timing | Tuition Refund |
|---|---|
| During the Conditional Acceptance Period | 100% |
| Within the first 25% of the scheduled period of obligation | 50% |
| After the first 25% through the first 50% of the scheduled period of obligation | 25% |
| On or after 50.01% of the period of obligation | No refund |
The period of obligation is the enrollment period, not to exceed twelve (12) months.
Programs Extending Beyond Twelve Months
For programs with enrollment obligations extending beyond twelve months:
- If a student withdraws during the first twelve months, ANHO will release the student from tuition obligations beyond that twelve-month period and apply the institutional refund policy to the unused portion of the first twelve months.
- If a student withdraws during a subsequent period, the refund for the unused portion of tuition applicable to that period will be determined using the institutional refund policy.
Exceptions may apply to certain grant-funded or scholarship programs that do not require refunds.
Return of Title IV Federal Student Aid
Students receiving federal financial aid who withdraw from ANHO may be subject to a Return of Title IV Funds (R2T4) calculation.
Federal regulations determine the amount of Title IV financial aid a student has earned based on the portion of the applicable payment period completed.
- Students who withdraw on or before the 60% point of the payment period may have a portion of their federal financial aid returned to the applicable federal aid programs.
- Students who complete more than 60% of the payment period generally earn 100% of their applicable Title IV financial aid for that period.
- Students who have earned financial aid that has not yet been disbursed may be eligible for a post-withdrawal disbursement, subject to federal requirements.
Return of Title IV Funds Deadline
ANHO will return any unearned Title IV funds for which the institution is responsible to the applicable federal student aid programs as soon as possible, but no later than forty-five (45) calendar days from the institution’s date of determination that the student withdrew, in accordance with federal regulations.
Important Financial Aid Information
The federal Return of Title IV Funds calculation is separate from ANHO’s institutional tuition refund policy. A student may have an outstanding balance with ANHO following withdrawal, even if federal financial aid was previously awarded or disbursed.
Students are encouraged to contact the Financial Aid Office before withdrawing to discuss potential financial aid adjustments, repayment obligations, and remaining tuition balances.
