June 25, 2026Academy for Nursing and Health Occupations (ANHO) Students, Prospective Students, and Stakeholders:We were notified by our institutional accrediting agency, the Council on Occupational Education (COE), that the U.S. Department of Education is suggesting ANHO change its Associate of Science Degree in Nursing (ADN) program to Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing (AASN) and its Associate of Science Degree in Practical Nursing (ASPN) program to Associate of Applied Science Degree in Practical Nursing (AASPN).These changes have already been approved by COE. Furthermore, the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) has also confirmed ANHO’s continued programmatic accreditation. Therefore, ANHO continues to be in compliance with COE, ACEN and the U.S. Department of Education.Please note these updates do not include any changes to any of the curriculum or to any courses within these programs. Likewise, there are no changes to the programs’ entrance or exit requirements. Again, the only change made to both programs is a change in the program name.The website is in the process of being updated to reflect these changes.Sincerely,Joseph C.
